The Gospel Unveils God’s Righteousness

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith... (Romans 1:16-17).

Through the years, men have sought righteousness, wanting to be righteous before God. However, the latter part of our opening scripture explains the reason for their inability to attain righteousness or even comprehend what it means. The righteousness of God is only revealed in the Gospel of Christ. The Gospel of Christ is the unveiling of God’s righteousness; it’s the Gospel of God’s righteousness. Therefore, until one accepts the Gospel of Christ, he or she will never be able to live a righteous life or know what the righteousness of God is.

Use Your Talent For The Gospel

So we are to use our different gifts in accordance with the grace that God has given us. If our gift is to speak God’s message, we should do it according to the faith that we have (Romans 12:6 GNB).
As God’s children, there’s something unique about each one of us; we’re all so uniquely graced and gifted by God. The Bible says, "…But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that" (1Corinthians 7:7). Everything you are in Christ—all the gifts, talents, and abilities God has given you—are to be used for His glory. Whatever the Lord has taught you or is teaching you; whatever He has exposed you to and helped you to know, are all for the furtherance of the Gospel. Therefore, find the opportunity to use them to advance His righteous cause.

Don’t hide what you know; don’t hide your abilities; don’t hide your talents. Prayerfully consider what more you can do for the ministry. How can you contribute? Your abilities and talents are required in the Kingdom. Become available; let others benefit from the Lord’s investment in you.

Making Sound Financial Decisions: Open A Bank Account. Part 5 by Dr Strive Masiyiwa.

Now here is a mystery: studies recently undertaken on small holder farmers, showed that a farmer who opens a bank account, is more likely to have money to buy seeds for the next planting season, than one has no bank account. Surprised? This is part of the mystery of wealth.

The new Prime Minister of India; a man respected for his ability to bring millions of people out of poverty, has just embarked on a campaign to get millions of their poorest citizens, to open bank accounts. Surprised? This is part of the mystery of wealth.
The Chinese have long understood, the importance of SAVING. It is the savings of millions of Chinese people that has driven their economic miracle.

The Minister of Agriculture of Nigeria, Dr Akin Adesina, a close friend and colleague, has embarked on a major campaign to get small scale farmers in that country to open, mobile bank accounts. Experts, including myself, believe that it will bring millions out of poverty. Surprised? This is part of the mystery of wealth.

Not Subject To the Elements!

Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances (Colossians 2:20).
When you were born again, you were delivered from the power of darkness, and translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son (Colossians 1:13). You’re therefore no longer subject to the elements of this world. This means that you must refuse to be snowed-under by infirmities and harsh elements of this world that make life unbearable for the ordinary man.

From our opening scripture, it’s clear that it’s the babe in Christ—the spiritually immature—that can be subject to the elements of this world. This is why you must keep growing in the Lord—unto a mature man in Christ. Then you’ll be knowledgeable enough to walk in the consciousness of your inheritance in Him.

In John 8:32 the Lord Jesus said, “And ye shall know the truth, and the

Believe In Perfection

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect (Matthew 5:48).
There’re many who don’t believe that perfection is possible. When you try to talk to them about perfection, they don’t want to hear it. With a sneer, they accuse you of being a "perfectionist," because in their erroneous belief, "nobody can be perfect." Yet, when you study the Word, there’s no place that suggests to us the impossibility of perfection. God doesn’t give us a chance not to be perfect. Everything about Him calls for perfection; He requires us to be perfect, not when we get to heaven, but here and now—in the earth!

The reason most people don’t think perfection is possible, which is why they’re not perfect, is that they don’t know what perfection is. Perfection is like success, which can be measured at different stages of your life, according to the set-out objectives, purpose, and goal. Perfection is measured according to the light, instruction, or information that you have with respect to the underlying objectives.

Revealing Christ

For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh (2 Corinthians 4:11).
Christianity is the revelation of Christ in you, the manifestation of the Christ-life in you. It’s so important that you understand this. For example, as a Christian, when you act humbly, it isn’t just because you made an effort to be humble. When you show love, care, and kindness to people, it’s much more than you trying to be nice or uphold good moral standards; rather, it’s the manifestation of the life of Christ in you. It’s because the humility of Christ is in your spirit.

That outward show of love, kindness, humility, etc., that others experience from you is the manifestation of the life of Christ in your spirit. All that God wants to be manifested in you is Christ; Christ alive in you: working through you, touching and changing lives through you.

Understanding this reality will change your thinking and your communication,

HE'S YOUR SALVATION, HEALING...AND STRENGTH

The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1).
Most Christians know Jesus Christ as their SAVIOUR, which is wonderful, but knowing Him as your SALVATION will completely revolutionize your life and take your walk with Him to a whole new level. Observe the words of David in our opening verse; he said, “The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” As your saviour, you’re hoping that He will “deliver” you from something, perhaps, your enemies; but as your salvation, you transcend that arena where he rescues you from danger or difficulty; you lose your fears, because you’re in Him.

Psalm 27:2 further shows the result of the Lord being your salvation. It says, “When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” The Christian isn’t one who needs to be delivered from anything; you don’t need to be bothered about your adversaries.

We Imitate The Father Through The Spirit!

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children (Ephesians 5:1).
We made a very vital point in our previous study that in Christianity, we don’t try to imitate Christ. What we’re called to do is to “live” Christ. We’re, however, admonished to be followers or imitators of our heavenly Father. Now, is this possible? Can we imitate the Father in our daily life? Yes, we can and should: but how? First, understand that Christ lives in you; He’s your life; therefore, all you have to do is live out the Christ-life.

However, we don’t see the Father. The Father never really lived here in the earth, per se. When Jesus was physically present in the earth, He said, “I do what I see my Father do” (John 5:19). Jesus healed the sick because that was what He saw the Father do. He emulated the Father. Now, where was the Father? And who’s this Father He was referring to? It’s the Holy Spirit!

Christ Revealed In You

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
There’re those who argue that Christianity is the imitation of Christ, but they’re wrong. Christianity isn’t the imitation of Christ. Those who are trying to imitate Christ are working from the outside.

In Colossians 1:26-27, the Bible tells us, "Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." Christianity is the revelation of Christ in you. That’s God’s dream; that’s His plan and desire: Christ revealed in you!

Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"; this was due to Adam’s transgression. Now that salvation has been consummated, we’re no longer short of the glory; we’ve been given the glory of the Second Adam, Christ Jesus. Christ in you is the hope of glory.

Making Sound Financial Decisions: How To Hold Onto Money. (Part 4) by Dr. Strive Masiyiwa.

As a young business person, it took me about 10 years to realise that it is harder to hold on to money, than to make money. Sadly many people never actually realise it, throughout their business life or even career.

I recently read a report which showed that many working professionals in a major European country, have enough savings to last 18 days, if they ever lost their jobs! The squirrel, a small animal that collects nuts during the summer, for the long winter, would no doubt be quite amused.

A business associate, who ran a construction company, came to me once complaining bitterly that people were stealing from him. He pointed out that he had done huge projects, in the past, and yet he was now totally broke. "How could this be"?!

" The problem, is if I tell you, the truth, I will lose you as a friend." I told him.

"Please, please tell me!" He begged.

Two Ways To Give Him Glory

He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Romans 4:20).
There’re two major ways of giving glory to God. The first one is to testify. And how do you testify? There’re three ways to testify; the first is by declaring what God did for you before the Lord Himself.

Secondly, you testify with your offering. Many don’t understand the power of the offering; it’s a testimony. When you give God your offering, it’s not a collection; it’s a sacred thing, holy unto the Lord. As you give it, you’re testifying and giving glory to Him in your life. Read about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, and his son Solomon; they all gave offerings upon offerings in worship to God. From time to time, these patriarchs would worship with offerings.

The third way to testify is to tell others; make known to others that which the Lord has done in, with, and for you. Thus, you live your life before others every day, in faith,

Testify!

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death (Revelation 12:11).
As a Christian, it’s important you testify of God’s goodness and the victories He has wrought through you. Our opening verse says, "… they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." Learn to testify always! Let your environment feel the impact of your testimonies. Testify of the power of God’s Word. Testify of the miracles of God that you’ve witnessed and experienced in your personal life.

One important reason you must always testify is because not all the demons of darkness know you. Of course, they know you’re a believer in Christ Jesus, but they don’t know your personality. Therefore, they’ll test you to know whether you’re full of fear or not; they’ll want to test you to know whether or not you’re

Global Service With Pastor Chris - Children of the Word

It was the first of its kind, the first Quarterly global service with our dear man of God Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Ph.D.

The word of God is so vital. Why do we talk about it so much. With this thought you begin a study of...
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (John 1:1 - 1:5 KJV).

The word of God is God and made all things...
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light (Genesis 1:1 - 1:3 KJV).

Sanctified For The Master’s Use

But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work (2 Timothy 2:20-21).
As it can be seen in our opening verses, there’re different qualities of vessels in God’s house: vessels of silver and gold, and vessels of wood and of earth. Being born again, we’re all vessels in the house of God, made for honouring Him.

None of us was made "unto dishonour"; each one of us has been raised for His glory, but you can decide if you’re going to be a vessel of honour, or a vessel of dishonour. That’s what Paul meant when he said, "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use…." To be "sanctified" means to be separated or set apart unto God for His sacred use, while to be "meet" means to be qualified.

Pray With Understanding

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven (Matthew 18:19).
There’s such a thing as praying with understanding, just as we can praise God with understanding. Now this is different from praying or praising with “the” understanding. Praying with “the” understanding is praying to God through your mind, in the language that you can understand. In other words, you’re not praying in tongues. 1 Corinthians 14:14 says, “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.”

On the other hand, praying with understanding means, you understand the principles of that particular prayer; you’re praying according to God’s Word, and your prayer has a definite direction; you know the reason for praying as well as the result! You’re praying, knowing who you are: a joint heir with Christ and also knowing the one to whom you’re praying: the Monarch of the Universe.

Making Sound Financial Decisions (Part 3) by Dr. Strive Masiyiwa.

There is a story told, about a young entrepreneur, who had been working on an amazing new idea. After sealing a major contract, he and his friends decided to go and celebrate at a local restaurant. They ate and drank until very late. Finally when it was time to close, they called for the bill; it was a shocking amount, and much more than they could afford!

Ever the entrepreneur, the young man asked to see the owner, and told him about his business venture, and how he believed that it would one day, make him billions. So he offered the old man, some shares, for the large bill he had ran up that evening. The old man, who owned the business, refused completely, and demanded payment. Humiliated, the young man pledged his car, and went off to find the money.

Many years later, the young man, returned to the restaurant driving, a gleaming Ferrari. He asked to see the owner of the business, who immediately remembered him. He told

Give Honour And Relevance To What You Do

For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify my office (Romans 11:13).
The Apostle Paul made the statement above because the Gentiles were considered Heathens, by the Jews. The Jews were the ones chosen of God; hence, they saw the rest of the world as unclean. When the Lord Jesus came, He came as a Jew and picked His apostles from among the Jews. After He left, and sent out these apostles as ministers, they ministered only to the Jews, the chosen people of God.

Subsequently, God opened the door for the Gentiles to receive the Gospel and sent Peter to the house of Cornelius, a Roman Centurion. Peter ministered the Gospel to Cornelius and his household, and the Holy Ghost came on all of them, to the astonishment of the Jewish believers that accompanied Peter.

Reprogramming Your Mind For Success

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God (Romans 12:2).
As one who’s born again, you’re not supposed to live like the rest of the world; don’t conform to their ways of doing things. For example, you might be in a place where people generally cheat or are dishonest; don’t imitate them. Don’t say, "But everybody is doing it"; that everybody is doing it doesn’t make it okay. Besides, you’re not "everybody;" you’re a new creation; you’re special; you’re one of a kind.

Our opening verse doesn’t just tell us not to conform to this world, it also informs us on what to do to stand out and live the life of righteousness. It says,

Making Sound Financial Decisions (Part 2).

Whether you are in business or not; whether you have a job or are unemployed; even if you are still a student. You might even be a social entrepreneur, a doctor or a teacher:
You still live in a world, in which everyday, you have to make sound financial decisions. You also live in a world, in which others around you, including local and national leaders, as well as business leaders, must have the capacity to make sound financial decisions, for the well being of all. Ultimately, how sound your financial decision making is, will be seen in the results.

"Time will tell, as they say", whether our two young heirs, (whom I spoke about, in my earlier post), would make sound financial decisions. One is not born, with a capacity to make sound financial decisions, it comes through education, reading the right material, and also training.

‎7 things to know about Pastor Chris Oyakhilome‬

Before you can talk about my Pastor, you must have done the following:

1. Publish a daily devotional of 423 languages circulated in 352 countries and territories and price is #150 since a decade.

2. Train and develop leaders and Pastors who are capable to do what you do.

3. Hold a crusade which gathered over 2.5 million people in just one night.

The Mind Part 2

OUR COMMUNICATION

Let’s go back to the questions asked at the beginning of this study. But this time, we’ll be looking inward on how we communicate, as though we were in the position to make these statements, and not necessarily having them made to us.

You get it right most of the time.
You mess it up every once in a while.
In life we have to make decisions as to what we want to be like, and how we want to communicate. Do you want to be a good communicator or a bad one? Remember something; communication really is the expression of your personality. How would you want to see things; this would be dependent on what results you want to get.

Let’s take an example here: you have a guy who has been doing whatever he’s been doing for a while, no matter how long that has been, and then he makes a mistake, and probably makes this mistake every once in a while. Now, I can see it this way – he makes this mistake every once in a while; meaning, just once in a while, he blows it.  Therefore, I can decide to say to him, every once in a while you mess things up. If I decide to say this,

The Mind Part 1

A Short Exercise:
If someone were to make a statement to you, for example, about your performance: which of these two statements would you prefer?

You get it right most of the time
You mess it up every once in a while.
These two statements are intended for the same purpose, except you think otherwise.

From the statements above, it’s clear that the first one is more positive and emphasizes the achievements of the individual, while the second tends to highlight his/her errors, which only occur once in a while. We would look further into this, later in our study.

What is the Mind?

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Ph.D Speaks

While conducting the September edition of the global communion service which held on 7th September 2014, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Ph.D addressed his congregation thus.

"I understand that some media houses particularly in Nigeria and maybe in South Africa have been writing some real stupid things... real stupid things, an errrrhh... frivolous charges... that's crazy.

A man of God... you have to understand something about a Man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or who preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures you will not find one Man of God going against God, sinning against God, the only thing you might find may be a Man of God, maybe...in two different things

Diligence: A Pathway To Greatness

The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slothful will be put to forced labor (Proverbs 12:24 AMP).
Slothfulness is one of the antonyms of diligence. That means the one who isn’t diligent is slothful, and will of necessity live a hard life, while the diligent receives promotion. The New Living Translation puts it this way, "Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave." It makes no difference what you do; if you work hard, you’ll be a leader and a champion. When it says, "Work hard," it means to diligently do whatever is required to be done to achieve excellence in what you do.

The slothful ending up a slave doesn’t mean he’s going to be a slave to somebody else, but to a system. That means he’ll be hemmed-in in life—a slave of the system—

Health Tips - Wash Your Hands

Hand washing is an easy way to prevent infection. It limits the transfer of bacteria, viruses and other microbes. As you touch people, surfaces and objects throughout the day, you accumulate germs on your hands. In turn, you can infect yourself with these germs by touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Clean hands can stop germs from spreading from one person to another and throughout an entire community.

Note that removal of germs from the skin requires the use of water and soap or detergent. Be sure to scrub the back of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails for at least 20 seconds.

Making Sound Financial Decisions...(Part 1) by Dr. Strive Masiyiwa

One of my favourite TV programs, is Global Public Square (GPS), on CNN, anchored by Fareed Zacharia. The other day, he spent some time, talking about a subject that is very close to my heart:

"Financial Literacy".

There is more to literacy, than "reading" and "writing". Financial literacy, is really about the ability to understand everyday financial issues, and here I am not talking about accounting practice. I am talking about the ability to make sound financial decisions. There are many people, who know how to read and write, very well, and yet are at "sixes and sevens", when confronted with simple financial issues.

Making Your Way Prosperous

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day andnight,…for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8).

The Lord is interested in your prosperity, and He shows in our opening verse how you can make your way prosperous and have good success. It’s by meditating on the Word and observing to do what it says. Observe again what the Word says; first, it says, "…but thou shalt meditate therein day and night…" showing you that it’s your responsibility to meditate; not the Lord’s.

Secondly, it concludes by saying, "thou shalt make thy way

Your Success And Joy Are His Dream

Not that I speak in respect of want:for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content (Philippians 4:11).
Someone once asked me, "Is it really possible to be full of joy all the time?" Very quickly, I responded, "I’m joyful all the time!" Then, he said, "Don’t you think that’s a bit unrealistic?" "It depends on what reality is to you," I responded.

For some people, reality is their human experience, but our reality is Christ. In Christ, it’s possible to be joyful all the time. You can be joyful every day, and be successful every day, irrespective of what happens to you or around you, because that’s God’s desire for you. He wants you to be joyful and successful.

We will worship the Lamb of glory

We will worship the Lamb of glory
We will worship the King of kings
We will worship the Lamb of glory
We will worship the King

And with our hands lifted high
We will worship and sing
And with our hands lifted high
We come before You rejoicing
With our hands lifted high to the sky
As the world wonders why
We'll just tell them we're loving our King...Oh
We'll just tell them we're loving our King

Partnerships. (Part 5): We must always, always respect agreements, and contracts.....

In the book of Joshua, there is a story about a group of people, called the Gibeonites, who managed to secure an agreement with Joshua and his leadership team, by false pretences. When the leadership of the Israelites, discovered what had happened, they were furious. The intriguing thing, is what happened next:

Joshua 9:18-20 (Living Bible, The - TLB)
18 ...... The people of Israel were angry with their leaders because of the peace treaty.
19 But the leaders replied,"We have sworn before the Lord God of Israel that we will not touch them, and we won't.
20 We must let them live, for if we break our oath, the wrath of Jehovah will be upon us."

His Words Are Spirit And Life

…the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life (John 6:63).

The words of the Master above let you understand the power, characteristics, and ability of God’s Word. Everything that proceeds from God, is "God"; that doesn’t mean His "Person," but that it carries His life: His characteristics. It’s like the human DNA, which can be traced from something as little as a follicle of hair from your body. That tiny strand of hair has your unique identity in it. In the same way, everything that comes out of Jesus—His Word—has His identity, power, and life in it. His Word that comes to you carries His "DNA," as it were.

This is the limitless power of God’s Word. Not every man’s words are life. But it’s remarkable to know that Jesus said His words are spirit and life. No wonder His Word never returns to Him void. See how beautiful the Message translation puts it: "So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them" (Isaiah 55:11).

If His Word to you is the Word of healing and health, it’ll work in you and complete its assignment of perfecting your health. If it’s about your finances, it’ll do the same. His Word of righteousness perfects the righteousness of God in you when you receive it. When the Apostle Paul received the words of Jesus, the life of the Word permeated His entire being, so much so that when handkerchiefs and aprons taken from his body were placed on the sick, miracles took place (Acts 19:11-12).

You’ve been born again by the same Word that carries the divine life (1 Peter 1:23); therefore, not only are you indestructible, everything about you is also blessed. Everything that emanates from you carries the life of God in it. Everything about you has been touched by divine energy, and preserved by the life and power of God that’s at work in you. Be conscious of this, and live the supernatural life every day.

Confession
I thank you Father for the efficacy of your Word and its ability to produce life in me, causing all I do to prosper. I’ve been perfected in righteousness, through the power and life of your Word; besides, my life is a testimony of the wonder-working power of the Word. Halleluiah!
